This is Rwanda. Western Province — Nyamasheke District, Rangiro Sector.

Look closely at this reality.

While the government promotes a polished image of development, people here are abandoned — forced to navigate broken, nonexistent roads every single day. This is not just neglect; it is systemic failure. No roads means no access to markets, no healthcare when it matters, no real chance at education, and no pathway out of poverty.

This is the Rwanda that is hidden.

Instead of prioritizing these forgotten communities, the regime continues to pour resources into projecting power beyond its borders — particularly in the Democratic Republic of Congo — and into expensive international PR campaigns designed to protect the image of President Paul Kagame.

But no amount of global branding can erase the truth on the ground.

The spotless streets of Kigali are not Rwanda — they are a showcase. A carefully curated illusion that masks the suffering of millions living outside the capital. Rural communities remain isolated, ignored, and silenced.

Development cannot be selective. Progress cannot be propaganda.

A government that invests more in its image than in its people is not building a nation — it is managing perception while its citizens are left behind.

The people of Nyamasheke, and countless others across Rwanda, deserve roads, dignity, and real investment — not neglect hidden behind headlines.
